Youth excel at state AAU meet

A half dozen area young people attended the AAU North Dakota State Track and Field Championships in Fargo on June 20, with Coby Antell of New Town bringing home gold medals in the 13-14 year old 1600 and 800 meter runs and qualified for the National Meet.
Ariana Little of New Town also medaled, taking third place in the 11-12 year old 800 meter run. She also took sixth place in the AAU regional meet and qualified for the National Meet.
Antell’s winning time in the 1600 was 5:36.96 and he ran 2:26.40 in the 800. Little Owl ran 2:57:74 in the 800 meter race and also competed in the 400 meters (1:20.97) and 200 meter dash (34.68).
