Wolves down Eagles

By Jerry W. Kram

The New Town Eagles welcomed the Watford City Wolves girls basketball team to the New Town Gymnasium, and the Wolves snapped up the ball and dominated the game, 70-35.

Head Coach Cliff Tollefson said the 9-1 Wolves were just to much for Eagles, whose record dropped to 5-5.

"Watford City is an excellent team," Tollefson said. "They are the returning region champions and they came ready to play. It was their first district game and they wanted to come out hard. Man, did they played extremely hard. They are a fast team and we have to be ready to play to their speed."

The Wolves totally dominated the Eagles end of the floor, seeming intercepting passes at will.
