Troopers open 1-1

The boys basketball season is off and running. Monday, the Garrison Troopers played their second game of the season, a home opener, against neighboring Drake-Anamoose. The Troop prevailed 58-43.
Garrison opened the season on the road at Lewis & Clark Berthold, falling 74-49.
Going in, the Troopers knew they would have their hands full against a perennially strong program in the Bombers.
“Berthold is extremely athletic and they are probably the best defensive team we will play all season,” Mattheis said. “They caused some problems for us, but it proved to be a good learning experience. It definitely showed us some things that we will need to improve during the season, especially defensive rebounding.”
