State Cross Country meet slated for this weekend

Area teams will be traveling to Fargo this weekend to compete in the 2011 State Cross Country meet.
The New Town Eagles and Parshall Braves teams will be two weeks prepared for the last meet that they had since the West Region Cross Country meet at the Edgewater Country Club in New Town. On the Boys’ side, the Eagles took first place and the Braves took fifth place. The Lady Braves took third place and the Lady Eagles took fourth place.
The last Cross Country Coaches’ Poll dated on October 8 had Ken Wells as the top overall individual runner. Wells won the West Region Cross Country meet by an entire minute, 20 seconds, so his momentum will carry over to the state meet at Rose Creek Golf Course in Fargo. Wells and two other runners, Dailray Connor and Chase Hale, will try and bring the Braves team a team championship. The Parshall Braves took seventh place overall last year at the 2010 State Cross Country meet.
