Parshall, New Town to clash for region volleyball berth
By Jerry W. Kram
The New Town Eagles are hoping that the third time will be the charm when they go up against the Parshall Braves in the region qualifying game in the District 15 Volleyball Tournament on Thursday.
The Eagles, who only have one win on the year against White Shield, dropped two matches to the Braves over the course of the season. They can still reach the regional tournament if they can find a way to solve the Braves and get a victory in the first game of the tournament at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
The Braves propelled themselves to a victory in their first game of the tournament by beating the White Shield Warriors 3-0. The Braves were firmly in control for the first game of the match, winning it 25-10. White Shield kept pace with the Braves for the first half of the second match, but fell short down the stretch to finish the game on the losing side of 25-15 score. The Warriors started making more mistakes in the third game and the Brave triumphed 25-13.
