New Town’s Snow is native All-Star

By Jerry W. Kram

Wesley Snow thought he had taken his last snap on the football field when the New Town Eagles’ season finished last fall. But thanks to one of his coaches, he got one more chance to taste the gridiron competition in the Native All Star Football Classic in Arlington, Texas.
Snow graduated from New Town High School in May and is attending Minot State University this fall, but is not participating in athletics. Elementary Principal and Rick Lindblad suggested that Snow apply to participate in the Native All Star Football Classic, a national event for high school seniors who are Native Americans.
“It was really hot down there,” Snow said. “I was there with a whole bunch of other Native Americans. It was weird at first because I was there with a bunch of people I didn’t know. But by the time we were through, we had all become friends.”
