New Town track teams compete at regional
Bell, Lambert, Baker all win events

New Town’s track teams competed in the Region 7 boys and girls track and field meets in Watford City with three athletes taking first place honors and two athletes finished in second place.
Symbria Bell was the lone girls team member with a first-place finish. Bell, who has been running in cross country, took top spot in the 3200-meter run with a time of 13:12, earning her 10 points for the Eagles.
Alex Baker was a first-place finisher in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:02. Baker who also ran cross country last fall, eclipsed nearest competitor Kenny Wells of Parshall by 4 seconds.
Sophomore Donovan Lambert was the Region 7 winner in the 1600-meter run. He was clocked at 4:43, taking out Divide County’s Bennett Lystad by a full 17 seconds.
