New Town gets easy win over Troopers

By MARVIN BAKER
Happy to be playing at home Tuesday night, New Town had no trouble with Garrison, taking an 86-41 win over the Troopers.
Psychologically, the game obviously helped the Eagles since four of their last five games have been on the road and the end result hasn’t been the greatest. Nine Eagle players got on the scoreboard with two of them scoring the same amount of points as the Garrison team.
For the Troopers, the game was a night of frustration as they weren’t able to capitalize on miscues and the Eagles ended up out running the Troopers and outscoring them in a big way.
New Town placed four players in double figures with Jesse Cury leading the charge with 24 points. Cury led all scorers, but Jordy James had a great night in his own right, scoring 17 against the Troopers. The scoring of James and Cury tied what the Troopers totaled. Mike Young Bird added 14 and Pat Stanley hit double figures with 10.
Cain Fox, Eric Smith, Alex Baker, Chris Enno and Tyrae White Buffalo also got into the scoring column for the high-flying Eagles.
