Although Kassidy Brenna led New Town with 11 assists Monday night in District 15 volleyball action, the No. 3 Trinity Christian Crusaders were too much for the Eagles and coasted to a 3-0 victory.
The match started out with good intentions as New Town took an early lead and following several lead changes, found the Eagles up 13-11 when Trinity Christian head coach Beth Zarling called time out.
That and the impending service from Sarah Telehey made the difference as the Williston group quickly moved ahead and took game one by a score of 25-18.
In the second game, it was all Trinity Christian as the Crusaders took an early 5-1 lead forcing New Town head coach Terry Mathson to call time. Unfortunately, the momentum was in the Crusader’s favor as they continued to move albeit slowly and methodically, they continued building their lead to 22-7.
