New Town Eagles still dominating distances
By Jerry W. Kram
New Town Eagles track and field coach Brian Anderson has a challenge ahead of him as the New Town Eagles attempt to repeat as state team track and field champions for the State of North Dakota. Their first two meets hint that the title may be within their grasp.
The Eagles boy’s team placed second in the two meets. The first meet was the NDSU Class B Track and Field Meet in Fargo on March 25. Thirty teams participated in the meet.
Anderson said the boys’ team did well in the distance races to place second overall with a total of 81 points. Des Lacs Burlington Berthold won with 86 points, with Milnor-Wyndmere-Lidgerwood third with 65, Kindred fourth at 53 and Lisbon fifth with 52 for the top five teams.
