New Town Eagles netters split two

The New Town Eagles volleyball team split two straight set matches this week, losing to Alexander then bouncing back to defeat the White Shield Warriors.
The Alexander Comets came to New Town on Thursday and took care of business by a scores of 25-20, 25-17 and 25-17.
The Eagles had better luck with the Warriors, who played in New Town on Tuesday. Neither team was able to get on track early in the first set, but New Town was able to earn a small lead at 10-8. The Eagles went on their longest run of the set to push the lead to 15-8. The Warriors went on a small run of their own and cut the lead to three, where it stayed until the score was 19-16. The Eagles reeled off the next five points and when a Warriors’ serve came up short, won the set at 25-18.
