New Town cruises to easy win over Tioga By MARVIN BAKER New Town’s team could have probably taken a nap in the second half of Tuesday night’s girls basketball against Tioga and still won. The Eagles scored early and often and ran at will to rack up a score that the Pirates would never overcome enroute to a 68-40 win. Cheyenne Brady led all scorers with 17 and was one of four Eagle players to reach double figures. She was followed by Shayna Taft, 12, Alvina Wolf, 11 and Hope Baker, 11. Jessie Marmon led Tioga with 15 and was followed by Shelby Carlson with 10. Aside from the balanced scoring attack that included Jayli Fimbres, Braedyn Taft, Shelby Baker and Carolyn Wolf, the Eagles were outstanding on the boards. In the first half, New Town quickly began securing rebounds and often scored on those opportunities that built the lead up in a hurry.
