Netters wrap up volleyball season

New Town and Parshall fought hard until the final point, but the Braves and Eagles volleyball season ended in tournament play this week. Although they won’t be moving on, the two programs accomplished some major achievements this year.
New Town came into the District 15 Tournament as the second seed this year after having lost one of its seniors, Shylene Lyson, for the season with an injury. With only one other senior graduating this year, Nichole Drosdol, the team should be poised for another good season next year.
The Braves squad boasted eight seniors this year, and their experience carried them to the region tournament in Watford City. The Braves were the third seed in District 15, but they knocked off the second seeded Eagles to earn a spot in the championship game against Watford City. Braves Coach Misti Myrhe said at the beginning of the year her goal was to at least be the second strongest team in the district and the girls achieved that goal.
