Mistakes cost Eagles as Braves dominate
By Jerry W. Kram
Tuesday marked the first athletic contests of the year for many area high schools, and the New Town Eagles and Parshall Braves were no exception. The Braves dominated both sides of the ball to cruise to a 52-8 victory in Parshall.
Parshall took the opening kickoff and quickly set the tone for the rest of the game. The Braves efficiently marched the ball down the field with Frankie Wilkinson opening the scoring with a touchdown on a 15 yard run.
New Town had trouble holding onto the ball and was plagued with turnovers all night. Several of the fumbles led to Parshall scores. The Eagles didn’t earn a first down until midway in the second quarter.
Jade Moran had a good night running the ball. The Braves quarterback scored the second and third touchdowns of the first quarter on runs of 25 and 42 yards.
