MHA Runners headed to state

Top finishes at a meet in Minot have qualified runners from the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Running Club to participate in the North Dakota Youth State Track and Field Championships in Fargo this weekend. The top three athletes in each event qualified for the state meet, which will be held June 20 at the Fargo South High School Track.
In the 13-14 year old boys division, Colby Antell placed first in the 1600 and 800 meter races. Dante Merrill placed second in 1600 and 100 meter races and third in the 800 meter race. Sophie Knight also picked up three medals in the 9-10 year old girls division, first in the 400 meters, second in the 200 meters and third in the 100 meters. In the 11-12 year old girls division, Emma Wheeling was first in the 800 meters and second in the 200 meters. Jessilynn Long Feather participated in the 800 meters and mile run as did Ariana Little Owl.
