Local boys attend basketball camp

Cole Driver and Rowdy Haddeland, both of New Town, attended the Bill Self Basketball Camp at Kansas University (KU) in Lawrence, Kan., June 13-17.
Cole’s mother Clorine Driver said the boys found the camp online.
“We both like KU, so we just decided to save up our money,” said Cole. Rowdy is the son of Colin Haddeland.
The boys worked on free-throws, dribbling, shooting, defensive drills, fast break drills and passing down-court with coaches from all over, a former NBA player and KU players. They also got to do five-on-five and three-on-three scrimmaging and watched a the KU team play.
