Lady Storm fall in home opener

The Fort Berthold Community College Lady Storm might have enjoyed some home cooking, but the injury plagued women’s basketball team wasn’t cooking on the floor as they fell to the Bismarck State College Lady Mystics by a score of 93-57 at the New Town High School Gymnasium on Nov. 19.
Head Coach Clint Wolf said the team started the year with just 10 players and after just five games, one player left the team and three others went down with serious knee injuries. With half the team being freshmen, Wolf said it would take time for the group to jell as a team.
"We have to learn how to play together," Wolf said. "We have to learn our roles, learn how to play as a team."
Being shorthanded also limits Wolf’s ability to give his players some rest. He noted that the Lady Storm have to be very careful about getting into foul trouble. However, he sees the team making progress and feels they should improve as the season wears on.
