Lady Eagles finish regular season with a perfect 19-0

Lady Eagles finish regular season with a perfect 19-0

The New Town Lady Eagles traveled to Garrison on Saturday for their last regular season basketball game against the Troopers. Baeleigh Brady’s 25 point performance helped the Lady Eagles win big en route to a perfect 19-0 season as they won the contest, 73-47.
“It is kind of cool,” said New Town Lady Eagles head coach, Orville Drosdal. “We told the girls it is more something you will look back on a few years down the road when you get out of high school and you will appreciate it a little more. I told them ‘enjoy this one tonight, tomorrow we are 0-0.’ That is where we will start from tomorrow. It is something for down the road that they can reflect on. It was pretty neat.
“It is kind of a reflection of what these girls did in the offseason and during the season also,” Drosdal continued.  “A lot of hard work definitely pays dividends and that is what it is all about-it is the work that they put into their game and how much they enjoy the game. That is why this 19-0 is there, a lot of hard work.”
Next up for the Eagles is the District 15 Girls Basketball Tournament at the Northern Lights Building.  The tournament is being hosted by the Mandaree school. The Lady Eagles received a first round bye as the number one seed.
