Girl golfers dominate region

The New Town/Parshall Girls Golf Team dominated the Region 6 Class B Golf Tournament in Ray, taking the championship by eight strokes and locking in a berth at the state tournament in Bismarck.
Hope Froshaug won her second regional crown with a score of 91 three strokes better than Asha Valliere of Tioga. Two other Eagles wound up in the top 10, Taylor Pennington, who placed sixth with a score of 106 and Bheri Hallam, who placed eighth with a 107. The other team members were Tamara Fox, 118; Kaloni Chapin, 130; and Brooklyn Fox, 133.
The win gives the Eagles girls team a berth at the North Dakota State Class B Golf Tournament to be held at the Tom O’Leary golf course in Bismarck on May 30-31.
