Eagles win regional title, moving on to state meet

It was another good day Saturday for the New Town Eagles as they ran away with the boys title and finished sixth in West Region girls cross country competition held at the Bowman Country Club.
In the varsity girls division, the Eagles took sixth out of the 13 teams. There were 76 girls participating in the meet. Leading the way for New Town was Symbria Bell with a second-place finish. Ashley Hale was 16th and Ariana Bell 17th.
Those three were awarded All-Region honors for finishing in the top 20. Sydney Deegan finished 40th, Sierra Rain Sun 72nd and Brooklyn Wells 73rd. Competing in the JV division was Kamryn Deegan who finished eighth out of the 18 runners.
In the varsity boys division the Eagles came away with the championship trophy with a score of 39 to outdistance second place Beulah/Hazen who had 56 and third place Parshall who had 78 points.
