Eagles tip Braves in Parshall

The Parshall Braves came out quick against the New Town Eagles in volleyball action in Parshall but the Eagles persevered to take the match in four sets, 22-25, 25-19, 25-11 and 25-13.
It was the Eagles that took the early lead in the first set, reeling off six straight points for a 10-3 lead. With KK Fox and Bailey Christianson serving, the Braves were able to pull within a point 14-13. The teams traded side outs until the score was tied at 18. With Dusti Olson serving, the Braves scored the next five points to take a commanding lead. The Eagles were able to close to 24-22, but the set ended with the Braves on top.
The second set started with neither team holding serve until the score was 9-8 in the Eagles favor. With Mara Brunelle serving, the Eagles built a 14-8 lead. They held a five or six point lead until Brooklyn Fox served a couple of aces to make the score 24-15. A Braves comeback came up short with a final score of 25-19.
The third set again began with the score close, until Asjha Goodall served to put the Eagles up 15-8. The Eagles went on to take the set 25-11.
