New Town Eagles put up a good fight Thursday against Sawyer Flashes, winning two out of the five games played.
“The team has been coming around” said Coach Orrin Weyrauch. “Their team work has improved, with better hitting all over the court”
The Flashes held up their end of the bargain, however. Some of the volleys were lasting a good minute or more with each side getting under the ball. The Flashes had good team work as they set up the ball got it over the net but the Lady Eagles rushed in to meet the challenges.
Sawyer started fast, winning the first game 25-6. The Eagles girls nipped the Flashes in a close second set 25-23. The teams traded sets in the next two games with scores of 25-15 for the Eagles and 25-10 for the Flashes.
