Eagles netters pick up district win
By Jerry W. Kram
The New Town Eagles Volleyball team picked up a win against a district foe by beating the White Shield Warriors three sets to one. The scores were 25-12, 18-25, 25-16 and 25-21.
Head Coach Dyan Fox said it was good to get district win on the Eagles home court. With a dozen players coming out for volleyball for the first time, Fox has been trying out different combinations on the court to figure out which lineups have the right chemistry.
That chemistry experiment started cooking early as Amiah Fimbres started serving with a 4-2 lead in the first set. The Eagles rattled off 10 straight points to take a commanding lead in the set. The Warriors were only able to hold serve for three points after that and the Eagles took the set 25-12.
