Eagles netters drop home opener
By Jerry W. Kram
With a relatively young team, the New Town Eagles are trying to figure out what works early in the season. The still have a ways to go after dropping their home opener to the Killdeer Cowboys three games to none.
The Eagles briefly held a lead against the Cowboys in the first game and were up 6-5 but had trouble holding serve throughout the entire match. After giving up four consecutive points, the Eagles were able to pull back to trail by one at 10-9. After that, the first game was all Cowboys as they ran off six straight points. With the score 19-11 in the Cowboys favor, Steena Larsen served out the last six points to take the game 25-11.
