Eagles netters drop close match
By Jerry W. Kram
A point here or there made all the difference as the New Town Eagles took a hard fought loss on their home court in volleyball as the Alexander Comets came away with a three sets to none victory. The Eagles were close in every set, with scores of 25-22, 25-22 and 25-23.
“Being that close in all three sets is good for us,” said Eagles head coach Dyan Fox. “Tonight my middle hitters were my killers. Brooklyn Fox and Carter Charbonneau were the leaders there.”
The Eagles did earn their second win of the season later in the week downing the White Shield Warriors in straight sets in White Shield. Fox said she had a lot of girls come out for the sport this year and she is still working to see who plays well together.
