Eagles impressive in state meet
By Logan J. Davis
The New Town Eagles boys were impressive all year and on Friday and Saturday at the Bismarck Community Bowl, they continued their powerful running legacy.
The Eagles were in the thick of the race for another state championship until the very end and their efforts brought them the State Class B runner up trophy.
There was a furious finish of the 3200 meter run when Robert White Jr. dove headlong to the finish line trying to get past a Hillsboro runner knowing he would suffer some serious scrapes that he would have to nurse later. White did it for the team as the Eagles were fighting for the championship as a team at that point. White and his teammates fought for that championship but after the final tallies, they were in second place just a few points behind Kindred, a team that posted a lot of points in the dashes, hurdles and field events.
