Eagles dominate Super Saturday

By Jerry W. Kram
The New Town Eagles were four for four on Super Saturday as they faced the Parshall Braves at the 4 Bears Events Center.
The Eagles junior varsity boys and girls teams dominated their match ups against the Braves junior varsity, warming the crowd up for a thrilling 72-68 victory by the Eagles girls team and a solid 75-52 win by the Eagles boys.
The Lady Eagles stormed out of the gate with an 11-2 run for the first six minutes of the game. The Lady Braves woke up at that point and finished the first quarter down by five at 13-8. The Braves narrowed the gap to three halfway through the second period on fast breaks by Sidney Hall and Cedar Hall. However, the Eagles had their own eight point run at the end of the half to stretch their lead to 11 before the Braves came back to cut the halftime lead to seven at 25-18.
