Eagles continue to thrive on the track
The boys team finished in 5th place at the Dickinson Carlson Booster on April 9 with 65 points. Bismarck won the meet with 156, Minot 2nd with 121, Dickinson 3rd at 98, Glendive 4th with 68 to make up the top 5 teams.
For the Eagles in the 800 meter run, Ryan Wheeling took 1st with a state qualifying time of 2:00.37. In the 1600 meter run, Ryan turned in another qualifying time of 4:34.06 and Jalen Chase took 7th and Scott Hale came in 8th.
In the 3200 meter run, Scott Hale qualified for state with a time of 10:12.41 for 3rd place and also placing in the 3200 were Jalen Chase 4th, Chace Hale 6th, and Jaiven Hale 8th. The 3200 relay of Joe Chase, Jalen Chase, Scott Hale, and Ryan Wheeling took 1st place. Mitchell Baker placed 8th in the high jump. Elijah Grady took 3rd in the shot put with a state qualifying throw of 51’1" and took first in the discus with a qualifying toss of 160’3.
The Eagles boys attended the Bismarck Denton Relays on April 11 and came away with a 7th place team finish against a very strong field of several Class A teams. In the 1600 meter run, Jalen Chase was 7th with a state qualifying time of 4:35.97 and Scott Hale finished 8th and also qualified with a time of 4:36.59. In the 3200 meter run, Jalen placed 2nd with a qualifying time of 10:10.27, and Chace placed 6th. Elijah Grady took 3rd in shot put with a career best throw of 51’5" and also had a career best throw winning the discus with a throw of 161’9". Both are state qualifying efforts.
