Eagles can’t stop Braves offense

The Parshall Braves Girls Basketball Team got big offensive performances from four of their starters and rolled over the New Town Eagles in Parshall on Saturday.
Cheyenne Packineau, Kiara Packineau, and Michelle Risan each scored 16 points and Aulora Severance had 14 as the the Braves’ balanced attack overwhelmed the Eagles defense for a 75-49 victory. Cheyenne Packineau also had 15 rebounds. Braves Head Coach Mervin Packineau said his team could have played better, but he was satisfied with the victory.
"New Town played a better defense than what we expected," Coach Packineau said. "They threw a full court press on us and they doubled us in the post again. They had someone on Kiara all the time and kind of forced us out of our offense. We couldn’t just run it and get it going. Now is not a time to be struggling. You have to credit New Town’s defense, every time you play a rival you can throw all the stats out the door."
The Braves jumped out to 10 point lead in the first quarter and the extended the lead every following quarter. Fouls played a big part in the game as the Braves were 25 of 38 from the line. The Eagles were 10 of 15 from the line.
