Eagles, Braves split double header

By Jerry W. Kram
Both of the boys and girls varsity teams were on the hardwood as perennial rivals the New Town Eagles and Parshall Braves clashed in Parshall Tuesday. The Eagles boys pulled one out of the fire after nearly being shut out early by a score of 53-49. The Braves girls rolled over the Eagles 70-51.
In the opening game, the Braves boys put on a defensive show, limiting the high-powered Eagles offense to just four points in the first quarter. Jaden Christianson and Josh Hart used both their size and outside shooting skills to run up 19-4 lead before the Eagles started to wake up. For the next two quarters, the Braves held on to a 12 to 16 point lead before the Eagles started making headway in the fourth quarter.
