Eagles, Braves run well in Mandan

The Mandan Kiwanis Cross Country meet was held on Saturday with the New Town and Parshall cross country teams doing very well in races that were packed mostly with class “A” runners.
The New Town boys’ cross country team took seventh place overall. Clyde Baker (11th place-16:31), Scott Hale (16th place-16:44), Joe Baker (36th place-17:56) and Wayne Fox (68th place-19:38) helped lead the boys to first place in the class “B” division.
“The boys are coming along real well,” said New Town Eagles head coach Brian Anderson. “I was real pleased with their progress.”
The New Town Lady Eagles took ninth place overall. Led by Symbria Bell (22nd place-16:41), the girls’ had a total of six runners helped the Eagles lock up second place in the class “B” division with Sydney Deegan (41st place-17:28), Taylor LeBeau (55th place-17:54), Ariana Bell (79th place-19:14), Kamryn Deegan (81st place-19:25) and Sierra Rain Sun (98th place-21:39).
