Eagles, Braves, fall in road losses

The New Town Eagles and Parshall-White Shield Braves both suffered defeats in road games on Friday. The Braves were taken down by the Divide County Maroons 36-14 while the Eagles were shut out by the Tioga Tigers 44-0.
Braves Head Coach Mark Grueneich said the loss was a tough one for the Braves but they are still in contention for the fourth and final spot in the post season if they can string together a few wins over the final month of the season. He said that injuries played a big role in the loss to Divide County and will be a factor for the Braves possibly for the rest of the season.
"We lost a tailback, offensive guard, defensive tackle and we are waiting on a couple of other reserves who are banged up," Gruenneich said. "The games don’t get any easier either. Our next game is against Kenmare and they are a very good team. They are 2-2 but they beat Divide County 46-6 and then had to forfeit to them because they had an ineligible player. Their defense is their strength."
