Eagle boys tops in west Region

The 2011 West Regional Cross Country Meet was held in New Town at the Edgewater Cross Country Course on Saturday.
On a cool, crisp afternoon that began at 1 p.m., the results were successful for area teams over the weekend. The New Town Eagles Boys’ team, who were rated second going into the regional meet, took advantage of their home field and won the meet with 32 points. The Parshall Braves Boys’ team, led by Ken Wells who won the meet individually, took fifth place overall. The Mandaree Warriors Boys’ team took ninth place overall and White Shield took 11th place.
The New Town Eagles were led by Clyde Baker (second place-17:40), Joe Chase (fifth place-18:22), Joe Baker (sixth place-18:31), Wayne Fox (eighth place-18:51) and Dylan Bear (10th place-18:56). The Eagles also had a very respectful and power reinforcement from their other runners who were quick to cross the finish line. The New Town Eagle Boys’ who also participated in the race included: Ryan Wheeling (13th place-19:00), Terrance Steele (19th place-19:34), Isiah Hale (20th place-19:37), Nape Fox (25th place-19:49), Will Stevens (26th place-19:52), Payton White Owl (32nd place-20:15), Tavares Fimbres (33rd place-20:18) and Tre White Owl (48th place- 21:05).
