New Town Eagle cross country runners competed in the 17th annual Rugby Booster Club invitational last Saturday with good results. The varsity boys won the event with the two, three and four runners and the girls finished in 11th place.
The boys finished in first place out of the 26 teams running in the meet. They had a score of 47 with second-place Rugby at 94, and third place Beulah/Hazen with 117 points.
Leading the way for the Eagles was Alex Baker in second, Donovan Lambert third, Clyde Baker fourth, Will Stevens 17th, Preston Smith 21st, Joe Baker 39th, and Jaydon Morris in 92nd. A total of 105 runners participated in the varsity boys run.
Tarvares Fimbres finished in 20th place and Isiah Hale 24th in the junior high race out of 44 runners.
