Eagle boys drop two

The New Town Eagles dropped two games to fall to 2-3 in the young season. The Eagles lost a close 71-67 game against Bowman County and fell to the Trinity Christian Crusaders by a score of 71-60.

The Eagles stayed close against the Bowman County Bulldogs in the first half. After one quarter the score was 14-14. The Bulldogs managed to gain a slight lead at the half 30-27. They built up a nine point lead in the third quarter, outscoring the Eagles 17-11 for a 47-38 lead.

The game opened up in the fourth quarter, and Eagles exploded for 29 points. However, the Bulldogs managed to 24 to hold onto the the 71-67 victory. Eagles Head Coach Robert Smith said the Eagles had their chances at the end of the game.

"We had six seconds left on the clock and a nice easy look into the basket," Smith said. "Then we fumbled it and it went out of bounds. We had to foul to try and get the ball back and that was it."

Terrence Steele led the Eagles with 16 points. Other top scorers were DJ LeBeau 16, Payton White Owl 12, and Devon Headress, 12.
