Eagle boys dominate, Lady Braves take second in Region Cross Country

The New Town Eagles boys cross country team continued its domination of the sport by taking the top six places in the Western Regional Cross Country Meet in Beulah on Saturday. The Lady Braves of Parshall also put in a strong showing, finishing second in their division.
The varsity boys won the meet with a perfect score of 15. Jalen Chase won the meet followed by Chace Hale in second place, Robert White third, Jaiven Hale fourth, Ryan Wheeling fifth, Colby Antell sixth, Ricardo Chase 11th, all making All-Region. Also placing were Mike Baker 29th, Devon Headdress 38th, and Brady Bratvold 40th.
New Town was first with 15 points, followed by Bowman County with 65, Beulah Hazen third with 111, Standing Rock fourth at 121, and Watford City fifth with 168. There were 21 teams in the boys’ division. Had the Eagles second five runners been scored, they would also have been a top five team. The victory marks the Eagles 11th consecutive Western Regional title.
