Braves, Eagles perform at Minot meet


The New Town Eagles and Parshall Braves were neck and neck at the Minot Invitational Rabbit Run at the Optimist Soccer Complex. The girls cross teams were within 25 points of each other as the Lady Brave took third and Lady Eagles were first. The Eagle boys took second and the Braves were seventh.
The Eagles boys team placed second behind a strong Williston team with 41 points. Williston won it with 34 points. Minot was third with 69, White Shield fourth with 163, and Southern McLean fifth with 236.
There were 12 teams competing on the boy’s side with 72 total runners. Leading the way for the Eagles was Jalen Chase in second place, Chace Hale third, Robert White fifth, Mike Baker 15th, Colby Antell 16th, Ricardo Chase 17th, and Brady Bratvold 54th. Two of the Eagles’ top runners didn’t run in the meet Ryan Wheeling and Jaiven Hale. Running in the junior high race were Jasten Wise Spirit third place and Phoenix White 32nd.
