Braves, Eagles earn region berths

The New Town Eagles broke a decade long drought and the Parshall Braves surprised some teams at the District 15 Volleyball Tournament in Williston.
Both teams were in the region qualifying games Thursday after losing to the Williston Trinity Christian Crusaders and beating the White Shield Warriors in games earlier in the week. Second seed New Town saw itself matched with the fifth seed Trenton Tigers while the sixth seed Braves battled the fourth seed Alexander Comets.
The Tigers proved toothless as the Eagles cruised to an quick 3-0 victory. In the first set, the Eagles allowed the Tigers to score one point on serve. They took the set by a score of 25-9. In the second set, the Eagles took the first five points of the set and later had a seven point run to go up 18-4. They cruised to take the set 25-11.
