Area runners do well on the road

 

Area Cross Country teams were on the road for meets in Watford City and Bismarck. The New Town boys team continues to dominate while Parshalls younger girls are showing a lot of promise.

On Tuesday, September 16th, the Eagles competed in the Watford City Invitational Meet.

In the boys division, the Eagles took 1st place with 19 points, followed by Beulah-Hazen with 70 points, Bowman County 79, Watford City 104, and Bison, S.D., with 181 to round out the top 5 in the 11 - team field. There were 42 runners in the boys’ race. The Eagles were led by Ryan Wheeling 1st place, Jalen Chase 2nd, Chace Hale 4th, Joe Chase 5th, Daniel LeBeau 7th, and Jaiven Hale 8th. "It was an excellent team effort with 6 out of the top 8 placers," said Head Coach Brian Anderson.

In the junior high race, there were 17 runners and Colby Antell took 1st place and Ricardo Chase came in 2nd for a strong showing from the young Eagles.

In the girls’ division, the Eagles finished in 4th place out of the 11 teams with 117 points. Killdeer won the meet with 44, followed by Bowman County with 60, Stanley with 108, followed by the Eagles. Leading the way for the Eagles was Tyleigh Brady with 9th place finish, Melayna Four Bear 20th, Ceara Little Soldier 24th, Kirah Morsette 26th, and Hailey White Owl 38th.
