Whiting Petroleum Corporation employees donate blood and services
In February, Whiting Employees partnered with North Dakota Can and the North Dakota Petroleum Council and stepped up for the First Annual Battle in the Baaken Blood drive.
Thirty-two employees participated in that event. Employees from Dickinson, Williston, Watford City and New Town donated blood according to Amy Baker, Office Manager at the Robinson Lake field office. The friendly competition pitted oil companies against each other to increase donations. The event was sponsored in collaboration with United Blood Services in an effort to increase blood donations.
According to Travis Dressler, recruitment supervisor, United Blood Services North Dakota, "With the influx of people to work in the oil industry, there is a greater need for ever than ever. This is particularly true in winter. The event had a total participation of 149 donors. We were excited to receive these donations."
