Volunteers turn out to spruce up rodeo grounds
More than 50 people representing numerous community agencies turned out last weekend to clean up and fix up the New Town Rodeo Grounds and get it ready for youth activities in September. The clean up was scheduled to be a two-day affair, but because of the ethusiasm to return this arena to its original condition, people have been working daily, picking up trash, painting and fixing fence, repairing bleachers and cutting weeds and grass. “There are a few more projects to do but we’re on track for our youth rodeo on Sept. 7,” said Cheyanne Erickson, of the Fort Berthold Extension Service, who helped spearhead the event. “First, we had to take care of the preliminary things.”
