Tribal business council upholds court order
Tribal business council upholds court order The Three Affiliated Tribes business council has upheld a Fort Berthold District Court order to hold a new primary election for a Mandaree representative to the business council. Randy Phelan, one of several candidates for Mandaree representative to the business council, is not a bona fide resident of the Mandaree segment, according to an order made by Judge Vance Gillette. Gillette ordered the primary from Sept. 16 null and void and that a new primary should be held for that segment. In addition, Gillette ordered that Phelan is not eligible to run in the new primary election that will take place on Nov. 4.
