It’s sometimes hard to notice when everything is buried under a blanket of snow, but now that spring is here, their work was worth it.
Several students in the New Town High School building trade class have been working on a project all winter that will help beautify New Town. In fact, it already has.
According to Vocational Center instructor Keith Bymers, the students built covers for trash cans that sit in various locations around New Town at the request of the city of New Town. Covers have already been placed in six spots downtown to coincide with Earth Day, an awareness and appreciation for the earth’s environment which is marked every April 22.
Iverson Super Valu, Lakeside State Bank, Larsen Service Drug, Kennbeck’s Jack & Jill, Cenex and the New Town Civic Center are locations where the green picket-fence like covers have been placed.
