Student achievements recognized at board meeting

It has been good first half for most of the students at New Town Public Schools. The principals of the elementary, middle and high schools listed multiple accomplishments achieved by students over the first half of the school year at Tuesday’s School Board meeting.
The meeting opened with three students from Edwin Loe Elementary School giving a presentations as prominent civil rights leaders, including Chief Drags Wolf and Rosa Parks for the board members. The students were part of the elementary school’s Ambassador Program. Under the program, students chose by their classmates act as mentors and leaders in the school.
High School Principal John Gartner described the spring/fall sports awards banquet held last week.
"We are getting spoiled because we had two State Championships to recognize and celebrate," Gartner said.
