Regional DUI task force launches across the state
The North Dakota Department of Transportation launched a new law enforcement program across the state called the Regional Driving Under the Influence Task Force program with a special event held in Minot Tuesday.
State officials - Francis Ziegler, Director of the NDDOT; Wayne Stenehjem, Attorney General of North Dakota; Col. James Prochniak, Superintendent of the North Dakota Highway Patrol; and Elmer Four Dance, Special Agent in Charge with the Bureau of Indian Affairs – recognized participating law enforcement agencies in this new program from the Minot and Williston Regions.
The Regional DUI Task Force effort is not a national effort, but a North Dakota effort that originated in the state. With this new program, city, county, tribal and state law enforcement agencies will work together to create a highly visible sustained enforcement to deter drunk driving throughout North Dakota beginning Oct. 1.
