Recreation Center on hold

By Jerry W. Kram

The Recreation Center planned for Main Street in New Town is on hold.
The New Town City Council decided to table the project for the current year because of the collapse of oil revenue. The $6 million project is a joint venture between the North Segment of the MHA Nation and the City of New Town.
“Our share is just over $3 million and that is all the money we got,” said Mayor Dan Uran. “Without our projected oil and gas revenue there is no way we can do the project. So I recommend that we put it off for a year until we see what prices are going to do.”
