Rain doesn’t dampen celebration

The crowds gathered early for one of the biggest powwows in North Dakota. Sponsored by the Antelope Society and 2012 Powwow committee the Little Shell Celebration was held at Four Bears Rv Park and Casino August 3-5.
There were more than 300 dancers of all ages and sizes competing for prize money. Though the weather wasn’t cooperating, it did not dampen the spirit of the dancers. There were many special events that were scheduled throughout the weekend, and plenty of Concession Stands to feed the largest of hungry crowds.
With guest speakers, television crews and dancers coming on and off of center stage, it was a busy place.
”My daughter’s in there” said Rebecca Brady, proud mother of Cheyenne Brady. Cheyenne was one of the dancers and originally from New Town and is currently studying at the University of Oklahoma.
