Public invited to give input on bypass
A Public Input Meeting will be held on September 13, to discuss proposed improvements to relieve traffic congestion on ND Highway 23 through New Town.
Alan Estvold of Ackerman/Estvold Engineering, New Town’s city engineer, said the main topic of the meeting will be the truck bypass that will connect North Dakota Highways 23 and 1804 north and east of New Town.
The meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on September 13, at the New Town Civic Center Auditorium. The Public Input Meeting will utilize an open house format with a formal presentation from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. An open microphone question and answer session will follow from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The purpose of the Public Input Meeting is to discuss proposed improvements to relieve traffic congestion along ND Highway 23 through the city of New Town. This may include improvements to Main Street and/or a new bypass route within the community. The meeting will provide opportunity for public input. Representatives from the city of New Town, Mountrail County, North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Ackerman-Estvold Engineering, and Wenck Associates will be on hand to answer questions and discuss concerns.
