Promoting places, protecting culture

Promoting places, protecting culture

By Jerry W. Kram
The MHA Nation has always welcomed visitors for centuries, notably including Lewis and Clark more than 200 years ago. Nowadays, hundreds of workers earn a living in the tourism and hospitality industry on the Fort Berthold Reservation and enticing people to visit is important economic development.
That’s why Darian Morsette and Jason Morsette of the MHA Tourism Agency invited members of the state tourism agency and members of other tribal tourism agencies to experience some of the attractions of the area, including a ride on the yacht operated by the 4 Bears Casino and Lodge. Darian Morsette wanted to share the experience of cruising on Lake Sakakawea with other tourism representatives.
