NTMS Principal receives national award

It is a big wide world out there, but the internet has made it a lot smaller. Even New Town is connected by wire (actually fiber optic cable) to nearly every spot on the globe. But that also exposes New Town to all the scams and criminals who also inhabit the virtual world. That’s why children need to learn how to be safe on the Web.
Teaching children how to be safe on the Web and giving them the skills they need to prosper in the new economy it created is the job of the New Town Schools. One of the leaders of the school district has been recognized with a national Presidential Award for teaching cybersecurity.
New Town Middle School Principal, Kara Four Bear has been recognized as one of two educators to receive the inaugural Presidential Cybersecurity Educator Award. 
The National Integrated Cyber Education Research Center (NICERC), a cybersecurity workforce development organization, presented Four Bear and Donna Woods of Canyon Springs High School in Moreno Valley, Calif., the Presidential Cybersecurity Education Award.
Four Bear has served the New Town Public School District as an administrator for five years, with the last three years as the MS Principal. When she became principal at NTMS, she wanted to make positive change for learners and
